Texas Winter League

Welcome to the Texas Winter League.  The Texas Winter League is for current and aspiring professional baseball players seeking to improve their skill under the direction of veteran professional baseball managers and gain exposure to those managers and coaches in order to have the chance to play professional baseball during the 2013 regular season.

You must be at least 18 years of age and have previously played at the high school, college, or professional level to qualify.

The Texas Winter League will operate in:

• Harlingen, the Rio Grande Valley,  Texas

From January 31, 2013 through March 1, 2013

Players will join one of four teams consisting of fifteen to twenty players. Each team will be managed and coached  by professional managers from the United League division of the North American League as well as from other professional independent baseball leagues.

Each team’s manager will draft four to six players who will be invited to spring training for the 2013 regular professional baseball season.  The Texas Winter League is the only league-sponsored developmental league which assures players who are drafted that they will attend spring training on one of the United League team rosters.

This is the only pro developmental winter league that is backed by a Professional League.

Each team in the United/ NAL will guarantee at least 4-6 players will be signed to each team in the league for spring training.

Managers and scouts from the American Association, Frontier league, NAL, United League, Pecos league, Japan, Mexico, Europe and MLB will be on hand to scout and select players.
