CheckSwing

The Premier Baseball Social Network for Players, Coaches, Scouts, and Umpires

If you are like many players and coaches, you have a bunch of gear, caps, cleats, uniforms, bats, etc. that you no longer use or need. Nobody wants to buy 2 leftover shirts from the Little League team you coached 3 yrs. ago. The worn out glove in the back of the closet? The bat with the dent or dings?
There is a great organization that will take all this stuff off your hands and make sure it all gets put to good use. Roberto's Kids - started by Steve Pindar (Oneonta, NY) and endorsed by Roberto Clemente's family, this group takes donations and ships cratefuls around the world to places where kids play ball, but money and gear is scarce.
I sent them a bunch of stuff a couple of times - stuff I had accumulated and stuff I asked players and parents to donate. This is also a great way to do a baseball-related community activity.
Here's the link on my site with more info and contact links. Tell Steve Tom says Hi, and enjoy your freed-up space..
