Do you ever get upset when your son is on the bench or not playing the positions you know he's good at? And if so, how do you deal with those emotions? I know being a woman is emotional enough, but…Continue

I don't think being a woman decreases or increases the emotionality regarding the issue that you presented. When any of us see our kids not playing the position he/she is best at, we feel mostly…Continue

Comment by nieshka vandemark on February 2, 2013 at 5:35am It is shocking for me that this group only has 29 members.Behind every child there is a mom.Moms are expected to sit quiet.I did it with my middle son15 years ago.My son was talented pitcher and first base player .When he went to higher age group 11-12 due to politics coach set him most of the time.Month after month i watch my son confidance getting killed but i set quietly..Twice I took my son early from practice, coach never notice a mssing player.Make short. After two years playing on this team and me being quiet my son HATED baseball and never played again.Like every place they are good and bad coaches.I regret that I did not speak up and just watch..My youngest son is 8 . I am finishing certification to be biomechanic specialist.I study and watch hundreds of slow motion video analasis i am learning details of pitching and batting.Yes I record my son and other players so they can easier see what they need to improve and I recomend this for everybody. Most progresive coaches realize that it is a great help .I find best coaches or i move my son. Some coaches are great at game but they suck at teaching mechanics. There only knowladge is what they remember from playing 20 years ago. When I ask why they stop playing most often I hear :I had a shoulder injury or elbw injury.
Statement Lets the kids just have fun is over use also.I go to the park to have fun.My son and a lot of other boys will paly baseball for years because there fathers years ago played and they want their sons to play.i want my son to be the best at whatever he does,.When kids swim on a team they learn correct strokes .It is hard work not only fun Fun is when you discover with practice I become good at this skill. It goes for all modern sports .Traveling teams are not just for fun.It is competition Life is a competition and each parent wants their child to succeed.Personal advice if your child is the worst palyer on the team for two three years or get the best coach you can find or change sport.I am Manual Therapist and Personal Trainer soon be Biomechanic Specialist I am planning to get cerified as Pitching coach .I want to do video analasis as a business to help other young kids to get better at sports faster to help coaches to see what needs to be corected.I want to be respected for my knowledge and actively coach my son and other boys in baseball.
Ok I talk a lot during practicing drills and corect bad mechanics. In a game Coach is in charge he rules the team.I sit on a bench and YES I RECORD and analize so the kids can improve for the next game and have fun doing well.
