I am looking for Professional Baseball Players to fill my 25 man roster this summer. The team will be a Professional Development Team, which means you will be playing in a PRO LEAGUE, but not getting paid....it will be for the exposure and you CAN be picked up by scouts or other teams. All interested players please email coachessary@yahoo.com

According to Greg m\Maddox scouting report in high school he threw 86-89 mph. At the time MLB scouts used the corded JUGS gun. MLB average was 88-89 mph. That radar gun was 2 mph slower that todays Stalker Gun. MLB average is 90-91 mph on the stalker gun. So Maddux would have been 88-91 mph on the stalker gun, which would get you drafted as a high school player.Maddox threw 88-91 mph on the JUGS gun when he hit the majors with the Cubs in 1989. Maddox was 85-88 mph on the stalker gun his last year in the majors. Todays cordless jugs gun used only my some colleges, dads and HS teams can be 1-4 mph faster than the stalker gun.

Tony Priester here are the links for Greg maddox original scouting reports for the cubs. After you read them you will see that your statements are incorrect.

maybe you people talking about Maddox throwing so hard should read original scouting report on him...it is posted(Blown up) on wall at Turner field....couldn't crack 90, will NEVER be a major league pitcher...that is original scouting report from cubs on him.....think that scout still works as a scout?

Before everyone inducts anyone into the baseball hall of fame do some research. No one has asked how fast he throws on the stalker gun, what MLB scouts have carded him? Or look at his colleges stats.
As far as indy teams. they can sign from 35-60 players depending on the league and only keep 24 players. You have to make the team. You could be competing for a spot with players with Triple A or Major League Experience

You can sign with an independent league team after your colleges season is over and if you get drafted by a mlb team the indy team will release you, with no buyout.

Hey Dave! In the event that you get drafted and are under contract with an Indy team, the ML club that holds your draft rights will assume your contract with the Indy league club and settle up with them for your release. Keep me posted on your accolades this spring as I would love to have you on my CBL club for the summer months!
