More About Me:
Where I teach and Coach, is a predominantly African American population. Baseball is not the main sport and in fact it is the 4th sport, behind football basketball and Track. I get a lot of great athletes, who are not baseball players. I literally have to teach them the basics from there freshmen year, in order to develop them to become baseball players. I am proud to say that 2 years ago we won the White division in Hudson County, for the first time in 40 or so years. just this past season I had a Centerfielder, who was also a Star football player, get chosen to represent our county, in the Senior All star game where he turned many heads the minute he lead off the game, beat out a ground ball than stoled second and third forcing a bad throw to third then scoring on the play. He ended up making All state honors Group III. First time in over 40 years!. My point is I'm still blessed to get athletes, who are blank slates, with no bad habits that were taught to so many in the lower levels. Understanding and properly teaching the art of hitting will continue to help me to make great athletes into Viable collegiate ballplayers. In reality, thats what its all about seeing underprivileged kids get the opportunity to go to college and better there lives through Baseball. As a father who coaches his own son I too have selfish reasons that I would love to see him player at the next level as a product of Snyder H.S.
