this year we had move to a new town in the south. We have played travel baseball with my son that is 13year old. We had goten on a new young team that was there first year out of league ball. I have 2 older kids that I coached that went to college and are out now. We have had a bad season this year with 5/29/1 year that mean nothing to me as it not about winning. The head coach has made it clear that he was the coach of this team. he said also that he would be the new Jr high coach in 2013.I…See More

Barnstable Bat Company

We would like discussion from hitters on wooden bat quality, model choices, wood specie preference and bat performance. As we all know the wooden bat marketplace is flooded with many brands and quality ranges .What is the best bat wood for you?

third base tag

Posted on February 28, 2011 at 8:30pm 8 Comments

My son was playing third base this weekend and the ball was hit deep left field. The short stop went out as cut off and the runners running to third base and then the short stop throws the ball to my son at third base. Should my son straddle the bag or have one foot on the side of the bag and my son is right handed. What would be the best position for him to be in to make the tag?
