Infields All-Dirt or Grass

Valdosta is trying to transform a softball field into a baseball field. Wondering what the pros and cons are for an all-dirt infield? Personally i've never played on on all-dirt. Just curious

"Baseball isn't baseball unless it's played on a grass field. I've played on skin and feel it takes away from the psychological aspect of the game. Many players do not like an all red field. Green and red. Now you're talking."

"Most coaches dont care about bad hops! if they did, they would water the infield before every game, grass at least stops the speed of the ball off the metal bat so that when the ball does take a bad hop it wont kill the infielder. The good coaches…"
