There's plenty of Vintage Base Ball clubs in Ohio. Most of them play the 1860s underhand delivery. I think you would get a kick out of the 1880s era game. Fast pitch and no glove from 55 feet away.
Merry Christmas!

There are several keys to control. I believe you have to put yourself into an athletic position on the rubber from the start. Another key for me without getting too detailed is to be able to repeat the good pitches and have feel for them. Try to feel that same release point. Picking up the catchers target and throwing "through it" instead of "too it" has also been helpful. The idea of getting the hitter out with quality pitches early in the count is beneficial as well. To sum it up, sometimes I use a key word with our guys such as "ICE" Intent: You must have an intention to throw each pitch whether for a ball or strike elevated or down. Up/down.. in/out hard/soft. 2: You must commit to the pitch. 3: Execute the pitch. Generally control is a mind set, I believe, if one is wild he/she is trying to do too much with the ball, manipulate, sink, cut etc. Good balance over the rubber with good hand separation, stride direction, length with a good sound repeatable finish. Strike one. Go get em'
