Ah, I see. It's the same here in the States, but things are changing. A lot of girls and their parents are taking schools and organizations to court to fight this, and they are winning. The Women's Sports Foundation is an integral part of the stereotype changing.
We just got news today that the NCAA (the bigger of the 2 collegiate sports organizations in the U.S that regulates collegiate sports here... the other one is the NAIA) just overturned its former interpretation that softball and baseball are the same sports. This ruling stands for the NCAA at all its levels (D1, D2, and D3), and the NCAA received pressure from the Women's Sports Foundation to overturn it.
This should open up HUGE doors for females who want to play baseball and not be told they have to play softball. Once people find out that the NCAA has changed its interpretation, things will change forever.
We're sick and tired of being told we have to play softball when we choose not to!
