First let me state that I'm not a GM, MD, or athletic trainer. I believe I'm a common sense kinda guy. With the resiliency of the young phenom and a 5-6 lead in their division why are the Nats using up Strasburg when he could obviously help them in pivotal games later. Is there nobody that could take his place in the rotation to get through the regular season? Would it even be a consideration with 30 or so games remaining? Why or why not?
At what level, recreational, legion, travel,, elite, 8 year old to 18 year olds does the much talked about "FUN" aspect of baseball become less about "Fun" and more about serious training, serious development and serious competition? Should the "Fun" factor be less of a priority with older age groups as well as younger elite travel baseball levels?
Some youth players 14U up to 18U have frequent elbow soreness after throwing sessions. Is this similar to muscle soreness after lifting weights. Should there always be concern of an injury or medial epicondolytis. The soreness usually subsides after an hour or two. Is is important enough for a visit to the doctor?
It's great to see a guy who didn't play baseball past little league become GM of the Red Sox baseball dynasty winning 2 World Series, 2 league championships and 2 division championships. And now he's with a not so successful dynasty. I think I speak for many when I say CUBS fans welcome him to Chicago.
