Baseball Peeps

Recently I reconnected with my Seattle Mariner teammate Brian Holman. I want to share with all of you this story about my teammates son David's perseverance and the Holman family's resilience.

I'm asking everyone to read this because certainly at the showcase and travel baseball levels too much emphasis has been put on "what team a kid is on" or "who the kid is playing with" for example. We all have dealt with this

After reading this story hopefully all of…

Hi Jeff

Thanks for adding me as a friend on here.  So awesome you were teammates with Griffey! Being a lefty myself I idolized his swing! My playing days are past me aside from the summer league I still play in, but I now help run a Pittsburgh based wood bat company, Aul Bat Co.  If you or any of your kids at your baseball center are ever looking to swing wood, we would love to talk with you about our product. Or if you are just looking to talk baseball we are ALWAYS up for that. Thanks!

Jeff,

Thanks for the email. We have a great staff, including hitting coaches Kevin Long (NYY), Jim Presley (Orioles), Brook Jacoby (Reds), Ty Van Burkleo (Astros coordinator) and Eric Owens (Dodgers coordinator); pitching coaches Mike Butcher (Angels), Bob Apodaca (Rockies); catching instructors Glenn Sherlock (Dbacks) and Don Wakamatsu (bench coach, Jays) and infield Rob Picciolo (bench coach, Angeles). If you think we could get enough high school kids to do a camp in NC, I'm all ears. You'd be guest instructor for the 3-4 day camp. It's not cheap, as the MLB coaches have to get paid what they are worth, but it'll be a baseball experience those kids will never forget! The clinic was geared for the adult player but we are expanding to the high school kids. Website is www.pro-ball.com. Best, John
