Ball is left in play?

Okay, I was asked this question and don't have the answer. If a pitch is in the dirt in MLB, quite often the umpire will take it out of play. Then how come when a hard grounder is hit into the dirt…Continue

I think the check swing is the second most controversial thing in baseball, with balks being the first. I didn't know what determined a swing or not and the reason was because MLB does not have a…Continue

More About Me:
I was a guest on E.S.P.N. on August 13, 2011. I'm the author of "Excellent Baseball: 30 Seconds Away." My website is http://www.LarryBaseball.com. Have a question on playing baseball? Feel FREE to call me, at no charge, at 1-866-390-1919. I'll speak to you live or I'll show you the respect of a return call. I'm a real person and I answer my own phone.

I use a very down to earth approach and do NOT turn baseball into rocket science. Baseball parents who have wanted to help their son overcome any baseball "struggles" have benefited tremendously, with no risk whatsoever, as I unconditionally guarantee it. And players and coaches have also benefited, no matter what level of play, whether it's Little League or college level. Again, no risk whatsoever with my UNCONDITIONAL guarantee that you are 100% satisfied. I can't help but wonder why we don't see more guarantees like this, can you?

If you or someone you know may want to follow me on Twitter, I "tweet" 3 baseball tips a day http://twitter.com/#

Love to discuss baseball. I also like to write about playing and coaching good baseball & have hundreds of articles on line that I share for free on baseball websites, blogs and newsletters. (You can do a simple search on Google, using my name.)

Greg Maddux Was Smart!

Posted on September 7, 2010 at 1:07pm 2 Comments

In Leo Mazzone's book, he says that Greg Maddux was the smartest baseball person he's ever been around. (Includes players, coaches and managers.) He said that Bobby Cox went out to the mound to remove Greg from a game. Greg told Bobby that he believes that if Bobby allows him to pitch to the next batter, he thinks he can get the batter to pop up. You guessed it. He set up the hitter brilliantly and the third pitch was popped up to the infield. Inning over!

All baseball coaches/trainers know it all Larry. Ha Ha! I love that part of it. What separates the men from the boys is who can be humble enough to realize this..."it's what you learn after you know it all that counts". I am happy to be a part of this group, thank you for making me feel welcome.

Thanks for the message.  I make and sell custom bats, but I hate spammers as well.

By the way, two good ways to dry out basebalsl, depending on the time of year.  In the off season, I spread them around my wood stove on the stone hearth.  Works great.  In the summer, the microwave works really well.  The problem with that is that sometimes the cover stretches some, and you get more pronounced laces, but for practice balls, who cares?
