Who is your favorite hitter and why?
Ted Williams. He was proof that you didn't need to grind your teeth, grip the bat heavy, and swing for the fences to be a great hitter.
Who is your favorite pitcher and why?
Justin Verlander. Consistency and thought process with his pitches. He can throw smoke when needed, but does an amazing job of setting it up with his off-speed.
Additional Playing/Coaching Info (If applicable, include detailed info here such as - HS, College, Pro Leagues, Summer Leagues, Arm Speed, 60 Time, Catcher Pop Time, etc.):
As a player, I played through high school and Legion. I transferred to the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse with the hope of actually playing football. It was short lived as I blew out a disc in my lower back. Baseball had always been my strong point and I was offered a coaching gig in my hometown when I was 21 for the American Legion program. I've been there six years now. The last three years we've made it to the state tournament and finished 3rd, 3rd, and 2nd respectively. I take pride in the fact that I've been able to help rebuild a program that I helped build as a player (taking runner-up at the State level my junior year, with a repeat state performance our senior year). This fall I was offered a coaching job with a junior college Tech school out of La Crosse, WI: Western Technical College, as their new pitching coach. The last three months have been both rewarding and an eye-opener. I absolutely love the game of baseball and look forward to a career within it.
More About Me:
I graduated from UW-L with a Bachelor of Science in Recreation Management with a competitive coaching concentration. I'm now attending Viterbo University as a graduate student, studying a Master's in Business Administration with a focus in Sports Administration
