"Dumb. The only value I can see in something like this is possibly teaching kids to turn AWAY from the pitches rather than into them — something I do way too often. That macho bullshit about "wearing one" comes from morons who have…"
"I don't think a good umpire minds hearing legitimate, reasonable criticism about the strike zone (though of course, complaints about the strike zone are strictly prohibited by rule). What drives them crazy is when players and/or manager…"
"We had a rough one yesterday, too. Two calls cost us four runs. Fortunately, we managed to rally in the bottom of the last inning and win anyway. First inning, bases loaded no outs, grounder to third and the guy comes home. Our guy is dead meat at…"
"What do I think? I think they are a bunch of liars who are simply motivated by money. Wood composite technologies in wide use in amateur baseball make it clear that the ONLY reason these guys stay with aluminum is because of their relationships with…"
"I saw it on the web. The pitch was clearly outside, so both Crawford and Madden had a beef. However, arguing balls and strikes will always get you tossed. That's fine for Madden, but Crawford needs to shut up and let his manager get tossed. He…"

In 2005, Tony and I had quite the battle for the strikeout title in the Frontier League. I ended up edging him, 145 to 144 with a 12 strikeout performance on the final day of the season. It left me 11 short of the all time record. Tony is quite the pitcher, and we have played against each other for years!
