Peter Rose. Solid singles hitter. Can't win ball games just on homeruns over the fence. Guys like Pete Rose contribute a lot by way of just getting on at 1B.
More About Me:
I'm the real live pink bat from Las Vegas who tried out for the MLB Detroit Tigers baseball team on March 9, 2009.

I am the real live breathing version to Major League Baseball's wood-painted pink bat used on Mother's Day by Major Leaguers. Louisville Slugger, who manufacturers the pink bats, even recognizes me as the real live pink bat. I am a nine-year breast cancer survivor who just happens to play real live men's baseball.

My goal is to be the real live pink bat who swings the wood-painted bat on Mother's Day in a real live MLB or MILB game.

Why?

Because President Dave Dombrowski read my "A Real Live Pink Bat" media book and asked his director of Minor League Operations to invite me to Lakeland, Florida to their Spring Training facility to see if I could made the team.

While I didn't get a professional baseball contract, I received something better--their respect as a baseball player. If you go to my website the links to all the news articles and the Tampa Bay News 9 TV segment are listed there. Read and see them all.

I'll be adding more links to radio interviews I've been doing on a nation basis and there will be more stories online as my baseball career with the men continues.

I'm a member of Las Vegas Sandvipers men's baseball team where I play first base and also coach for our team. This is my 4th year with this outstanding team of guys and my 10th year playing in the Vegas Valley Men's Baseball League an affiliate of the national MSBL.

We are also two-time league champions in the 25+ Wood Division. Yes I play with guys half my age because I can! Our general manager Gary Arlitz does a great job of our team. We wouldn't be the 2007 and 2008 heroes we are without him.

In 2008 the Susan G. Komen Southern Nevada Chapter awarded me with the Athlete Survivor of the Year and New Balance Athletic Shoes made me an Honorary Team New Balance Member as well.

A Baseball Career First! I hit my first 85 mph fastball yesterday! Woo Hoo!

It's a baseball career first. I hit my first 85 mph fastball yesterday in our opening season game. We lost the game but I won the joy by hitting that pitch!

Okay the 3B guy caught it too but hey he had to run to get under it and it did go 90 feet to his base!

Can I please swing the pink bat now on Mother's Day in a Major League Game!!! I'm the real live pink deal you know...

I had two plate appearances today in our baseball game against the Las Vegas Kings. One was at home plate. The other was at the chalk line at 3B with their third baseman.

Nice Norine! Definitely hope we have a chance to play together soon! Our MSBL season is winding to a close. We played a double header yesterday and got two Ws! I pitched both games. The other teams were great sportsmen as well. The whole league has been great and I'm looking forward to next season already!

Hey....NEVER question the Baseball Gods (or Goddesses, as the case may be!). I heard a guy question his bloop hit one time...saying "that was crap" -- then he went like 0-40 or something! Not this girl... every time I get on, I THANK the baseball gods/goddesses...and you should do the same with that very nifty bat! : )
