head tilt

I think we have all run into the hitter who tilts the head on the stride altering the path of the bat and effecting balance. Other than slow motion work or front hip flip does anyone have a good…Continue

drills, ideas to stop linear movement after footstrike

I see many young hitters continue linear movement after footstrike. In the process of trying to keep the knees inside the feet throughout the swing they can do so on the back side but are unable to…Continue

Does anyone have a solution for the hitter whose hands travel forward with the body on the stride. This particular hitter will load the hands but by the time he strides the hands are moving with the…Continue

"There are 2 options:  One is a technique that places the handle of the bat firmly against the back top of the back arm just below where it meets the shoulder.  If you are right handed the rear elbow will be pointing down at the ground and…"

"Ralph- something I've done that is incredibly simple and effective using the tee is to just place it deeper in the zone.   one of our players last year showed a great swing path, but had issues with his pre-swing move (sliding, etc). …"

"Okay motionless is a bit of an exageration. However once the foot plants the head remains almost stationary while the hips, shoulders, torso rotate around an axis with minimal head movement.  You get the idea."

"Here is something I use with players of all ages. Also, what you said about moving the hands to early is an issue because they will travel forward because they have no place else to go. One thing I like to say to me hitters is (counter rotate).…"

"Ralph, See if this makes sense.... Separating the hands from the stride in sync is a key component to hitting. I did a drill when I played where the person doing front soft toss would allow me to separate or load and I would hold that load until he…"
