Who is your favorite hitter and why?
Tony Gwynn, because he hit the ball were it was pitched. He didn't try to pull the ball unless the pitch was on the inner half of the dish.
Who is your favorite pitcher and why?
John Smoltz, because he knows how to pitch in pressure situations and has a nasty slider and splitter, not to mention a pretty nice moving fastball.
More About Me:
I have been around baseball since the age of 9. I started playing in the in-house league. Back then there were no travel teams like there are today. After in-house league, I played Babe Ruth, American Legion, Middle School and High School before moving onto Junior College Baseball. After my 2 years at juco, I came back home and played 4 years of Semi-Pro Ball (ages 18+). In the semi-pro league, I was invited to a Private Try-Out by the Chicago Cubs in Wrigley Field. I never was signed, yet only one player out of 150, so I don't feel so bad, but it was a great experience just to be there. After my semi-pro days, I played 6 or 7 years of slow-pitched softball...that's all I'm gonna say about that....we all know softball guy and I'm definitely not him! Now I have a 6 year old, so I'm getting him ready for baseball.
