Tyler Johnson replied to Kyle Grucci's discussion Best Baseball Spikes?
"I have the UnderArmour Heater Mid 1 and they are the most comfortable and durable spikes Ive ever had. Light, comfy, and there is a lot of support for your ankles. I highly recommend them. I got them for $60 off of the intenet. they are normally…"

Type of hitter... Power? Average? Slap? Pull?
Well when I do hit I hit for average. never been a big power hitter. I tend to pull the ball a little but I slap it a lot to.
If you pitch, what type of pitcher are you... Power? Ground ball, Fly ball, Knuckleball?
I'm throwing around the mid-80's so a bit of a power pitcher. 4-seam is a natural cut fastball. I get a lot of round balls using that and my 2-seam which is a natural sinker. I have a decent curveball and slider and my changeup is very nice.

Who is your favorite hitter and why?
Ryan Theriot is my favorite hitter becasue he constantly works on it. He really came along the last few years with the Cubs and he's a smart hitter as well. Hits it where it's pitched. Somehow he got some power last year and that just added to it. Riot!!
Who is your favorite pitcher and why?
My favorite pitcher is Kerry Wood. I watched him when i was a little kid and never got tired of seeing that sick slider. His pitching style is closest to mine so that adds to it. He can be just overpowering and that is what I strive to become in college and maybe after.
More About Me:
I play baseball at Monmouth College in Illinois. It's a D3 school but the talent we have here is pretty good for a D3 program. I started playing ball when I was 4 years old and never stopped. I played shortstop and 3rd base my whole life until my sophomore year of high school when I discovered pitching. i worked at it a d wrked at it and became our number one varsity pitcher. I gained 20 mph in the two years.

Rick Peterson (Milwaukee Brewer's Pitching Coach) web seminar

Posted on February 23, 2010 at 10:59am 3 Comments

Last night I had the opportunity to attend a web seminar with Rick Peterson for the Brewers. He had a lot of things to including promoting the 3P Sports organization. But the main focus of the semiar was to adress issues surrounding pitching injuries and how to maximize on the velocity and performace of the pitcher. He said that the best things you can do as a pitcher is to throw long toss and keep your arm healthy while using the proper crow hops and making sure you finish your stride and… Continue
