Portland, Or. 9/6/08 – The Portland River Hawks

Saturday was a great day for baseball and the Portland River Hawks came together for their first win of the fall season. Playing excellent baseball yesterday with great defense and solid base hits against the new Wichita Nationals another team using metal bats in our wood bat league.

Who wants it?

I can go round and round about why some players succeed and others don’t. I remember as a kid my dad always telling me that if I wanted to be “good” I had to do more than the rest of the team. What he meant was I had to be the first one to practice and the last one to leave.

My Experience at The Cape Cod Classic Labor Day Tournament

This past weekend, I traveled out to Cape Cod, Massachusetts to participate in the 14th Annual Cape Cod Classic Baseball Tournament. This is a 30+ wood bat tournament consisting of 14 very good 30 and over baseball teams from all over New England. There were two 7-team divisions with each team playing 4 games between Friday and Sunday. The top 2 teams from each division then played in the championship game on Monday morning. Rudheath takes on Northern Ireland for a Majestic Win!

Rudheath Majestics baseball team showed that they can live up to their name by achieving a majestic victory on their recent trip to Portstewart in Northern Ireland.

The school baseball team completed the weeks tour in celebratory fashion by winning the final game against the more experienced Portstewart Eagle team, with a final score of 9 to 8.
