Baseball coaching tips of the day

Your daily and season long message to athletes should be about the traits that build character.

  • Pride
  • Effort.
  • Empathy.
  • Courage.
  • Trust.
  • Honesty.
  • Gratitude.
  • Loyalty.
  • Contentment.
  • Humility.

Putting those together gives coaches the pep talk before the big games. You can touch a little on each of the above:

Pride - “You have earned your way here; no one gave it to you. Effort - I know you will give your all, and that is all anyone can ever expect. Empathy, courage, teamwork - Things will get tight out there, play without fear, and trust in each other. Honesty - Your preparation will pay off. As long as you give your best effort, you have succeeded. Gratitude - I want everyone to know that the coaches are already proud of you. Contentment - Your parents will be proud whether we win or lose, too, if we give our best. Loyalty - Have fun out there, work together, and represent yourselves with that love of sport inside of you. Humility - Win or lose, do it with dignity and class.”
