Baseball coaching tips of the day.
For coaches who are not intimidated, there are few things better to help kids improve and avoiding skill know-how confusion than starting the season with the following plans.
1. A parent training day at the beginning of the season.
Getting parents (at least those interested) together with the coaching staff to learn and discuss the fundamentals and drills for home use can get everyone teaching the same things. Some parents may feel they know better ways of doing things, and this is the time to talk about the most optimal ways of teaching players.
2. A parent/child practice. All learn the game together, and parents work with their child with coaching oversight. Each player has different needs. These sessions offer an opportunity to find those variances.
