I posted this in the American Legion group on Nov. 19 with no response. So I will post this on a blog. I would like to ask all of the American Legion coaches/players how many of you play in a wooden bat league or are trying to start one? I was thinking of bring it up at are first meeting to switch to a wooden bat league and would like to show how many teams do play in wooden bat league around the country. Please let me know.

Thanks,
Jim

I assigned legion ball in region 8,8a in eastern ma. and i think its a great idea but they simply don't have the funds for it .let alone umpire fees

I can't add directly to your question. What I can add is that when I played in High School and Legion I chose to use wood bats because of the production I got from them as opposed to the aluminum. The bat doesn't hurt your swing if it is solid and the feel you get is a lot better. As a player you will be able to get better feedback at the point of contact.

Hi Jim, to reply to your response. I play in a Wooden bat league and I love it. It is 100% better than playing in Aluminum. I have play in several teams in wooden bat and the feel of the bat and the swing is a lot better. I really enjoy wooden more than playing in an Alumiinum league.
