Not a bad swing. Hard to tell from this view alone, but it seems that you weight transfers too far forward on your stride. I also feel that your bat starts a little too vertical which may lengthen your swing. Lower half looks explosive, and you do a good job of staying on the high/outside pitch and driving it away.

John, Thank for the analysis ... We will evaluate his weight transfer a little closer ... every little bit helps. This young man is 15 years old, playing up in a 16 and under league. He did not get much playing time in 2009, workout all winter on the dForce Trainer for batting, pitching & speed ... In 2010, he broke into the starting lineup. He finished the season batting over .450, during mid-season was well over .500. He only struckout 3 times the whole season, with more than 200 times at bat. He wants to add power to his game this season, and the correct weight-transfers will be a big key to him adding power ... Thanks.

What seems like nice cuts are very misleading, backview video is very helpful in observing horizontal slice on the ball. As with vertical slicing, this produces a weak 'line drive' which seems powerful due to the noise and the pain the batter experiences, on a playing field these cuts are playable by any fielder. You have the power, but the energy you are building up is misdirected in the horizontal plane. Mainly because your posture is too upright. Angle your axis a bit toward the plate and you will develope a more inline plane of the ball's path.
