Youth sports coaching tips of the day
Being positive doesn't mean just making kids feel good about their play.
* When it comes time to criticize and “come down” on the team, do not ridicule players lack of production and stay focused on things they can control—effort, attitude, and preparation.
* Do not “show up” an individual at any time. “Showing up” a player is the act of singling out an individual in front of others with the purpose of placing blame. A one on one talk is best for the purpose of explaining what you see of their effort, attitude, and mindset.
* Do your best to recognize when it is time to inspire the team and individuals and when it is time to back off and use humor to relax them.
Be the Best!
